My Art Is Free

I have made a “radical” decision, inspired by an artist whom I admire for both his art and his philosophy, which basically seems to boil down to “art is for everyone.” Translating that to Stabby Speak, it reads to me like:

FUCK PAYWALLS

SO, as of 4:20 pm PDT on October 2, 2024, you can still buy nice prints from me, getting all those nice lil extra goodies and helping support a small artist. You can still get nice, signed, limited edition prints, as well, with CoA. And of course, you can still buy the originals, with CoA.

But as the creating artist, I declare that every piece of art that now and henceforth appears on

THIS PAGE AND THIS PAGE ONLY

(DO NOT go fucking with my guest artists’ IP without consent.)

is in the public domain.

Screenshot it. Click-save-as. Email me and ask for the original scan. Print it at home and tack it on your wall and throw darts at it. Use it on your album cover. Remix it and tag your initials across it. Print it a hundred times, set it on fire, and tag me into a video ranting about how my art sucks (no seriously, I’d watch that a dozen times haha). Print it a hundred times and sell it at the holiday market (if I can make you a few bucks in this Capitalist Hellscape, then hell yeah Comrade!) Do whatever you want with it, it’s yours now.

If you like and/or want my art and can’t/don’t wanna send me money for it, well, I don’t want you to not have it, that defeats the purpose of art. While I’d love to make a living Doing Art Shit, ya know, I’m not making art just for me. Art IS for everyone. I know it makes me happy, and maybe it’ll make you happy too, which makes me fucking happy some more hahaha

Peruse the gallery at your leisure! If you decide you do want a quality print from me, or an original in all of its shiny, glimmery, color-shifting, hard-to-reproduce glory, along with relevant Certificates of Authenticity, email me at TakinAStabAtArt@gmail.com. Starting as low as $20 for basic prints, $35 for editions. And I think I’m gonna look into some holographic prints, and making greeting card sets, sooooooo keep your eyes open.

OH! And if you DO use a piece for your album cover or book cover or something, omg please show me, that would be so rad 😀

A note on how I price my originals. I watched a video about a year ago about how to price your art like you don’t need the money and why that’s a good idea. Basically it came down to “how much is it gonna cost THEM for YOU to not be able to look at this all the time,” and “the more you value your art, the more the collectors will.” After all, I will always need more paints and paper, and I SUPER like some of the stuff I’m doing lately. That said, if I know you, I will ABSOLUTELY do payment plans and/or art trades!
